Ron Grosset

Ron Grosset is a Glasgow-based book publisher with The Gresham Book Publishing Company Ltd.

Ron started out in publishing in 1976, with Wm Collins Sons & Co Ltd  Glasgow and London, and in thirteen years there, worked on the publishing and book manufacturing sides of the business before leaving to set up New Lanark based publishers Geddes & Grosset.

G&G became part of the DC Thomson Group in 1998. Waverley Books was formed as an additional "trade" imprint within the DC Thomson Books Group and flagship projects were RL Stevenson's Kidnapped and Jekyll & Hyde graphic novels - scripted by Alan Grant and illustrated by Cam Kennedy.

Waverley was the publisher behind Maw Broon's Cookbook and the team which produced the many Broons and Oor Wullie books that followed.

Ron is now co-owner and co-publisher of Gresham, which bought the Geddes & Grosset and Waverley Books businesses from DC Thomson in 2013.

Waverley Books continues to publish books of Scottish and international interest and the Geddes and Grosset list specialises in English language reference and children's books.

Ron is Vice-chair of the Publishing Scotland trade organisation, Chair of their Training Committee and is a Trustee of the Edinburgh Unesco City of Literature organisation, and is current Chair of Weegie Wednesday.
