Jerry Brannigan

Looking back, I've been writing in some form or another since my teen years - with a long break when family and a proper job took over.

I began to write seriously when I wrote and produced a play, a comedy, at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2001. Since then I've written and produced a further two plays.

I co-founded, and ran the Admin, of Scottish Screenwriters until I left 9 years later to concentrate on my own writing work. In film I've made a short documentary and a short drama.

I then co-authored a book, Robert Burns in Edinburgh, and found that contacts made through Weegie Wednesday made traditional publishing possible.

Amongst the places I've spoken at are the Edinburgh International Book Festival, Glasgow's Aye Write Book Festival, The Mitchell Library, the Dick Institute in Kilmarnock, the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and the National Library of Scotland. I've also spoken to many Burns Groups and History and Heritage Societies over the last couple of years.

Robert Burns is never far away. I've researched and been asked to to advise on Paintings of Robert Burns, his Masonic connections and his life in general.

I'm currently working on a Scottish flavoured non-fiction book.

Oh!! and I've been Chair of Weegie Wednesday this past year!
