Rose Ann Fraser Ritchie

Rose Ann Fraser Ritchie is currently a Director at the Scottish Writers' Centre based in Glasgow and has been a committee member for the Federation of Writers (Scotland) for many years, promoting and networking for writers. Rose loves writing poetry everywhere and anywhere. She enjoys performance poetry and is an active performance poet with Women With Fierce Words. She is also an accomplished film extra. Rose has appeared on stage and screen for BBC dramas and appeared in films. Her love of dance and singing adds to her work as a performing artist. “I like working with artists and I have written poems that accompany art and sculptures. My poem ‘Wojtek’ the hero bear was the official poem for the unveiling of the statue in Princes Street Gardens." Her poems have been published in different Anthologies such as WWFW, Dove Tales and Poetry Scotland. Rose also creates film poems and she performed her poem 'Breathe' at the Edinburgh International Book Festival along with the choir the Cheyne Gang for the student run Proteus project. She is a volunteer with ICUsteps Edinburgh. It is for patient survivors of critical care. She is a thriver now after recovering in 2013 from sepsis and she believes passionately that the arts in many forms are brilliant for your mental and physical well being. She has volunteered in the community for writing groups, Inky Fingers and at The Thistle Foundation. The Traverse Theatre events in Edinburgh are every second Wednesday of the month.
