I love writing and I've been in the fortunate position that, for most of my adult life, I've managed to make a living out of my passion. I've spent the last 30 years working in journalism and public relations.

Professionally, I write press releases, web-pages, social media posts, features and advertising copy. I also provide training in plain English, media management, public relations and crisis management.

I am an award winning writer. I won the Chartered Institute of Housing's Good Communications Award for a brochure for young tenants. I also won a Silver CoSLA (Convention of Scottish Local Authorities) Award for a TV commercial about Internet safety.

I've had features published in The Herald, Car Mechanics and Cycling Plus.

At the moment I'm working on a book called 100 Thousand Words. It's largely autobiographical. Once that is finished I shall embark on a science-fiction epic and follow that up with a public relations text book.
