The Project Cafe

Our speaker at February's Weegie Wednesday is novelist and poet Jacqueline Smith who will speak about:

Truth in Fiction

Jacqueline will discuss the hazy line where truth and lies meet in works of fiction.

“Writing fiction is the act of weaving a series of lies to arrive at a greater truth.” Khaled Hosseini

Or

“But it's the truth even if it didn't happen.”
Ken Kesey, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Biog: Jacqueline is a former chair of the Scottish Writers Centre and organiser of Poetry@The Ivory. She had 'Dumbie & The Devil' or The Ballad of Janet Douglas which tells of the escapades of a 14 year old infamous witch-finder from Scotland, published in the Long Poem Magazine and whose story formed the basis for her recently published novel 'The Scottish Witchfinder.'
This was preceded by the publication of her first novel The Two Seeings.
Jacqueline has also published 'nspirations from the Commonwealth of Writers and is currently working on a series of YA mystery novels set in Ghana, West Africa.
